American Idiot. This i really want to go see it looks amazing. Direct from Broadway, the smash-hit musical American Idiot tells the story of three lifelong friends, forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia. Their quest for true meaning in a post 9/11 world leads them on the most exhilarating theatrical journey of the season. Featuring the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, American Idiot boldly takes the American musical where it’s never gone before.
The sound of music is back on stage aswell. Pantheon return with one of the world’s best-loved musicals, telling the heart-warming story of the von Trapp family and their escape from Nazi occupied Austria. With its unforgettable score, The Sound of Music touches the hearts of all ages and brims over with some of the most memorable songs ever produced for the stage, including My Favourite Things, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, The Lonely Goatherd, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and of course the glorious title song, The Sound of Music.
I have never ever been to a theatre to see anything in my life and I would really like to go one day.
sfx and wigs in films
5 Films with makeup i love
2. Mirror Mirror - The make-up in this film is so simple but still seems so dramatic . It looks just right for a fairytale film. So simple yet so perfect. The bright red lips are just amazing and the snow white skin. It stands out so well.
3. Edward ScissorHands - The makeup suits the character. It is perfectly applied and is very scifi. I just love it. This was one of the first films i had seen knowing that they use sfx makeup and this is what got me interested in sfx.
4. Pirates of the carribean - This film has sfx used and simple makeup but the makeup has to suit different stages in the film. I really like johnny depps makeup the best in this movie, he just looks so different. The have to change the makeup for when people fall in the water so they need to make it look like their makeup is running and all sorts.
3 Films i love that uses wigs
1. Hermione Grange from harry potter had to wear a wig in the final movie to reshoot some scenes as she had her haircut into a pixie cut, then because her hair was so short she had to wear a wig.
2. Frank from shameless wears a wig and i never even knew till someone told me, it is so convincing.
3. And finally from above edward scissor hands. This movie was the first movie i seen that done sfx and where i knew wigs were used.

I had low expectations but just because of last year and how unorgansised it was. But i have been really surprised at how good the course is already and we are only a couple of weeks in.
2. What are your initial thoughts on JWC and the Media make up course?
I love it so far it is something i really enjoy getting out of bed for.
3. What is your funniest moment of college life so far?
Laura purred when i was doing her make-up i can not do her make-up without laughing
4. What is the most interesting thing you have learned or learned how to do so far?
The most interesting thing i have learned so far has to be how you make a mold of someones head for a wig. I wear wigs and wigs are a real passion of mine. So anything i am going to learn in this class i will find extremely interesting.
5. Who is your make up idol?
Kevyn Aucoin is my idol. His work is amazing and he got to do 9 vogue covers in a row. If anyone is inspirational that will be who it is.
6. Why do you want to be a MUA?
I orginally wanted to be a hairdresser but because i could get bored easily i wanted to team it up with something and make-up was the obvious choice, |I am always trying something new with makeup and i have so much fun with it. This is a job i will really enjoy and that is why i want to be a MUA.
Bobbi Brown
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Brown graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in theatrical makeup. Afterwards, she moved to New York City to work as a professional makeup artist. In 1991, she and a chemist released a line of new lipsticks under the brand Bobbi Brown Essentials, which debuted at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. Today, the line is available at few fine retailers such as Lord & Taylor. The success of that makeup line led Estee Lauder to buy the company in 1995.
In addition to creating cover looks for magazines and make-up for fashion shows, Brown is the exclusive beauty editor of The Today Show and a frequent guest on the E! and Style channels. She is the author of Bobbi Brown Beauty, Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual, Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty, Beauty Rules and Bobbi Brown Beauty Evolution. On 2006-10-24, Brown joined the Emerson College Board of Trustees.
Brown is partners with a charity called Dress for Success where she gives underprivileged women attractive clothes to wear to job interviews. Also, the women receive the basic makeup by Bobbi Brown Essentials. When they receive the makeup, they get their makeup done by volunteer Bobbi Brown makeup artists.
Ve Neill
Ve Neill (born Mary Flores) is an American makeup artist. She has won three Academy Awards, for the films Beetlejuice, Mrs. Doubtfire and Ed Wood. She has been nominated for eight Oscars total.
Neill serves as a judge on the 2011 Syfy original series Face Off which features makeup artists competing for $100,000.
She has also done makeup for over 6000 films.
Ve Neill has worked on all of the films of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Other notable films she has worked on are Austin Powers in Goldmember, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Hook, and Edward Scissorhands.
Kevyn Aucoin
When he first arrived in New York, Aucoin was putting makeup on test models for free to build up his portfolio before he was discovered by Vogue. For the next year and a half, he worked daily with Vogue photographer Steven Meisel. In the three years following his first Vogue shoot, he did a total of 18 more. In 1984, he collaborated on Revlon's Nakeds line, the first line based solely on skin tones. However, his Vogue cover shoot with supermodel Cindy Crawford in 1986 took his career in a new direction. During 1987-89, he did nine Vogue covers in a row, and an additional seven Cosmopolitan covers. At his peak, he would often be booked months in advance and could command as much as $6000 for a makeup session.
His motto was that it was far more important to help a woman feel beautiful no matter what, and that makeup was simply his tool for helping her discover herself. A proponent of the philosophy that every woman is beautiful within, he was one of the best-paid celebrity make-up artists in history. He began writing a column for Allure. A comment he made in a 2000 column, calling members of the National Rifle Association "morons" drew a record amount of mail for the column and a few death threats.[7] He would refuse to do the make-up of models he felt were too young.
Later, Aucoin would work with Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido on their Inoui line. He would later be approached by both Vincent Longo and Laura Mercier to endorse their eponymous lines, but decided to launch his own brand, Kevyn Aucoin Beauty, in 2001 instead.

Smoky Eyes
I really love this look and hope to use it when start fashion makeup!
The colours i used were white silver and black, I think this is a dramatic look and although people use it for night makeup i really enjoy wearing it during the day. I feel it makes my eyes stand out.
Make-up = Passion
Hairdressing
Today i done wet setting with rollers on Laura. Due to doing this last year i already knew what i was doing. I done a directional set so made it all go to one side. It did not turn out as big as i wanted because i didn't use a setting agent but it still looked extremely nice and very modern.
Sfx unit
It was my turn in special effects to do Laura. I used a bruise weel some clotting blood and some wax to give her cuts and bruises. it ws actually a really good class and i was surprised at how easy it was. It is all about looking at pictures and re-creating what you see. Its key that you do research.
Wig making
I made my first wig cap in class today using cling film and cellotape it was rather cool. First of all you pincurl the hair then put the cling film over and finally cover the whole of it in cellotape until its solid. You need to make sure that it is completely covered or it will collapse when taken off the head.

Essential Skills
Essential Skills
In this class we are working on our blogs so this will be the class i will be updating my blogs on :D I will mostly be doing it at home though. I have also downloaded the blogger app on my phone and also on my ipod, so it will be easier to take pictures in classes and post them there and then. Hopefully my blog will be full of interesting information and will show my progress.
Eye Makeup
Straight Theatrical Makeup
Straight Theatrical Makeup
In this we learned that straight theatrical makeup is just darker makeup to what you usually wear so that it stands out to people sitting at the back balcony. You wear a darker foundation that you would normally wear and eyeshadow blends in to the inner of your eye and you flick out the eyeliner on the top lid and the bottom lip. We have also been putting on a roary lipstick e.g. red or bright pink. I done this on my classmate Laura but sadly did not have my phone to take a picture.
Wigs And Hairdressing
Wigs Unit
In the wig unit we learned how to make a wig cap so that we have the shape of the persons head. We learned that you have to pin curl the hair so that the hair is flat against the hair otherwise it will not be the exact shape of the head and will not fit properly. Due to the facts that i wear wigs i had to work on a sally head but i didn't mind because i done pin curling last year and already know how to do it.
Hairdressing
In hairdressing i have been doing wet setting with rollers again i done this last year so i speeded through it then afterwards i got told to do barrel pin curling to show the other students as again i done this last year. I love hairdressing but because i done everything so far last year i am speeding through it and have just been working on sally heads which is a bit disappointing but i am ok with it. Also because i wear wigs it means students can not use me as a model.
Demo
She got to be the lovely model.
